If you are planning a vintage wedding, then you’ll know the importance of making sure every detail is as perfect as possible. You want to know that the venue will be suitably decorated and themed, as well as making sure the guests enjoy the experience as well.
Here is a guide to making your wedding as stylish as possible.
1. Style your centrepieces.
This is a great way to ensure your venue is in-keeping with the theme of your wedding.
There are some lovely ways to make eye-catching designs that are perfect for vintage weddings. You could consider simple bird cages in cream or white which can be filled with flowers and look stunning when filled with classic flowers, such as lilies or hydrangeas.
2. Fun with favours.
There are so many different ideas for favours, that you can have a lot of fun with them.
You could create little jars of old-fashioned sweets, and tie them ribbon or lace. There are even great ways to add vintage charm with the place card holders.
3. Pose it up with a photo booth.
There are some wonderful photo booths out there for every style of wedding.
You can go for a vintage photo booth hip image, with the photo booth being an old VW bus. This would look amazing for any outdoor wedding reception, and you could have a lot of fun with the photos.
4. Look at getting a food truck.
No, I don’t mean the kind of food trucks you see after a night out in town.
You can get some beautiful vintage street food vans serving just about any type of food you can imagine. It’s a great way of enjoying an informal wedding reception, and allows guests to relax and enjoy the day. You can even get vans that serve drinks - perfect for summer weddings when everyone wants to be outside.
5. Have fun with the bridesmaids dresses.
You will want your bridesmaids to reflect your chosen theme, so have a look round for some great vintage dresses. There are some great ways to play around with a more bohemian vibe with flower hair garlands and floaty dresses.
6. Sort out the music.
If you are going for a particular decade, then it makes sense to choose music from that era.
You could consider hiring a band that specialize in vintage tunes, or a DJ who has the perfect playlist. Another great idea would be to have a jazz or swing band playing music throughout the day.
7. Create a fun dress code.
If you want the whole day to be themed, then maybe suggest a dress code for your guests.
Make sure they know what decade or era it is, and let them have fun interpreting it for themselves. You’ll be guaranteed a wedding with some of the best dressed guests, and it will be amazing to look back on.
