Organic & Natural Skincare Picks for Winter

We’ve been pretty lucky with the winter here in Toronto but nonetheless my skin is less than pleased.

It’s dry and my goodness is it ever dull! I think I’m not alone on this either, it’s totally the cold and that dreaded wind.

When M2 Brand Management sent out their first batch of blogger boxes I was so excited to receive one full of natural and organic goodies! I figure if you’re going to be putting it on your face daily it should be doing good for you too.

The box held a bunch of goodies from a nifty travel toothbrush to natural deodorant and the skincare goodies obviously caught my eye!

And the perfume they sent…oh my goodness is it ever amazing! But let’s start with the skincare first.

My first try of the box was this cream from Weleda. It’s certainly highly concentrated as it says and a little goes a long way, never a bad thing in my books. For example I use this on my forehead because it gets the most dry/red from all the cold I find.

This natural cream is free of GMOs, synthetic preservatives, fragrances, colorants and raw materials derived from petroleum. It has a slight smell to it that reminds me of, and this is so broad, a medicated cream, and I don’t mind it at all. It’s helped with the redness in the last couple of weeks and that’s something I’m always trying to get a hold on.

This organic balm is multipurpose and does it ever help with chapped lips.

Since it has the argan oil in it I would recommend giving it a little shake before you use it as the oil settles and comes right out all liquidy.

You can use this on your hands (cuticle care!), feet, eyes, lips…seriously it’s for all over. It’s soothing and sulfate, paraben, and cruelty free and leaves your skin moisturized. I use this cream more overnight because it does absorb just takes a long time – I’m thinking because of the oils! So I use it as a nightly treatment and it’s kept my lips (and all around them) from getting chapped.

My favourite from the box!

This oil smells so darn good I use it in the morning and at night and it’s keeping my skin (at least a little) bit glowy!

Acure calls this little guy a skin super food and I can totally get why – rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids, and proteins. You don’t just have to use it on your face either, like the other products you can use it all over: body + decollete massage oil, hair serum, cuticle oil, and it soothes dry elbows and heels. This oil actually absorbs quite nicely and the smell…a mix of rose geranium and lemongrass to soothe the senses and calm you on down…basically I should be bathing in this stuff.

I’m throwing this one into the mix even though it’s not skincare because I’m so impressed with the scent and how long it lasts, I get little wafts of it all day. And it’s made to be good for you when you’re smelling great…well scent is personal but you get what I mean.

This scent is 92% organic and made with pure essential oils and comes in two other scents as well. The one that I have is all refreshing and makes me wish it was summer, it’s that bright and airy and has citrusy notes. It’s also free from phthalates or any synthetic chemicals!

If you have any tips on how to make your skin glow (and not just by using a bomb highlighter) let me know in the comments!
