A few weeks ago I attended a little party with Maui Moisture to celebrate their launch into Canadian retailers.
The event was so much fun (I really should have saved my Insta stories…) and I loved the venue – Miss Thing’s on Queen! It was a tropical escape – something we all desperately need at this time of the year. The drinks were also delicious, and a little strong. Not a bad thing if you had the next day off like I did.
But I know, you want to hear about the products!
When I first saw the bottles in the invite I straight up thought I was going to a smoothie event and I was pumped. Not that I don’t love trying new hair care products but I seriously love smoothies.
Anyway! This new line comes from the makers of OGX, another line that I love because it’s sulfate free! I’m allergic to sulfate, and if I use a shampoo that contains it my scalp gets so very dry and that’s no fun.
These shampoos, conditioners and treatments are bringing something new to the hair market with having pure aloe juice as the first ingredient and all of them are infused with coconut water too! See, the smoothie bottle packing is clever right?! I think so, but I’m a sucker for amazing marketing.
They’re also vegan and made with eco-friendly materials and don’t contain any parabens, phthalates, sulfate surfactants, colorants, petrolatum, silicones, gluten, or mineral oils.
Seriously, it’s just the good stuff.
There’s five different collections in the line and, hopefully you won’t mind, but I’m going to include the little summaries from the PR team because there are a lot of deets in these goodies:
Us bloggers left the fun event with the line that would most fit our hair issues – I went with the strength & anti-breakage!
I haven’t been using it long enough to see if it makes a long term difference but I so far think they’re great. The smell is delish but not overwhelming, and it’s great for my coloured hair because of all the clean ingredients! My hair is in dire need of the anti-breakage so I’m excited for that bit.
The moisture loaded duo also helps with frizz – it just helps my hair stay smooth and when it’s dry my hair flies all over.
I wanted to share them now because I think everyone could use a little tropical moment in their lives with these storms lately…I don’t know about you but I’m real ready for summer so at least my hair can have a little escape!
And of course, the drinks were so tasty I would totally make them at home and I loved that they gave us the recipes!
If you’re a fan of OGX shampoos I totally think you should give these a go! They’re available at Shoppers and Walmart for around$10.99 – which is great for a shampoo that is actually good for your skin and hair!
I have a strong love for hair treatments too so if you’ve tried one of these make sure to let me know what you think!
