Last Sunday I had the (lovely) chance to spend the afternoon at the BlushPretty beauty bar here in Toronto.
It was my definition of relaxing, which I know might sounds strange to some! I got my makeup and hair done and then had a photoshoot – basically the afternoon left me feeling like a million bucks!
So what is BlushPretty?
I will admit my inner journalist was slacking that day, I was just too into being pampered. I didn’t ask a single question or even take any photos! Which is why I’m so grateful Maria (who I got the chance to finally meet after seeing her on social media for ages!) let me use hers! She also wrote about her experience too, so please give it a look – her shoot is so gorgeous!
Okay back on track – BlushPretty has a lovely website and that’s how I’ll fill you in:
“BlushPretty: Makeup+Hair Artistry began in 2004 with a whopping one artist. It was a blog, a “moonlighting” job, a hobby. And then, in 2008, Stephanie Daga – Founder and Creative Director of BlushPretty – took a leap of faith, quit her job, and took her hobby full-time.
Fast forward to present day, and BlushPretty is now one of the leading beauty boutiques in the GTA. With three locations and over 20 makeup and hair artists on the roster, BlushPretty offers a variety of services both in-studio and on-location. From makeup+hair, beauty lessons, men’s grooming, hands-on workshops, and everyone’s favourite beauty event, The Beauty Board, BlushPretty is the name on everyone’s perfectly painted lips.”
So let’s get to my look – which I am still in love with!
I had my makeup done my Alisa Chung and my hair done by Laura Amaya, and the photos were done by BlushPretty founder Stephanie Daga! All three ladies were amazing to work with, so talented, and great at making me feel right at home.
Stephanie had my look all planned – tousled waves with a monochromatic beauty look. The focus was really on the cheeks and lips and it was truly a radiant look in the end. I absolutely love how the blush made my eyes pop, I didn’t even know that was possible!

The photos haven’t been retouched or filtered in any way; after all, BlushPretty strives to be #BlushPrettyUnfiltered.
I am so thankful to the ladies for this visit. I adore all the looks they put together for each of the women and I admire the hard work that goes into this!
Since BlushPretty has three different locations, head on over to their website for more info!
Social media wise you can find them at:
Until next time!
