Five Favourites: Clarins Skincare

The other day I was thinking about how my blog has a lot of reviews and while I love doing them, and usually the products involved, it’s lost a bit of the personal touch. So that’s where the idea for this series came from – sure they’re mini reviews but it will be a mixture of products and sometimes different brands too! I have a few ideas up my sleeve with the Five Favourites and I think it will be a fun series to do.

So let’s get started!

This week I’m chatting about a brand that I reach for daily: Clarins!

I was lucky enough to attend an event with them a few months back for the launch of their Open Spa (think facials for a budget & for those on the run!) and fell in love with the service and the products. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried but for the sake of the series, here are my Five Favourites!

Hand & Nail Treatment Cream

Okay confession: this is the first hand cream I’ve ever owned.

Pretty bad eh? Now I don’t know how long I went without one!

My favourite pampering to do is paint my nails and put this on – the smell is absoutely amazing too! It reminds me of lemon cake, which I know is very specific…and might be wrong but it really does smell yummy. It’s so soft, and not greasy at all and it’s good for your cuticles too which is a nice bonus.

The bottle is a good size too, I’ve barely made a dent in mine because a little goes a long way!

Eye Contour Gel

This little eye gel was also my first product specifically for the eyes.

I am very lucky to not have bad circles under my eyes (knock on wood!) and haven’t felt the need to buy one but I love this one.

It’s such a light, gel texture and spreads so evenly and easily. I don’t use it everyday but I reach for it when I’m not sleeping so well or have a lot going on and my eyes get puffy. I don’t know where I heard it, or even if it’s true, but I keep it in my fridge too and love the cooling effect.

Beauty Flash Balm

I am always on the lookout for products that make my skin glow, and this balm does just that!

I’m not going to hide it, this product has a heft price tag so I’m very happy with how good it makes my skin feel and how little you need to use at a time.

There are two uses for this product (always a nice feature in products): you can put it under makeup like a primer for s boost of radiance or you can put a slightly thicker layer on and use it almost like a mask! I go for the second way every other night, after all I am of course savoring this balm.

Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser

This cleanser is perfect if you’re like me and sometimes just have lazy skincare days.

I say a lazy because this cleanser doesn’t need to be rinse off after and the peach water smells so lovely. It’s suitable for dry and sensative skin too, which I have both! It doesn’t lather or anything – it’s really a no fuss makeup remover that leaves your skin soft and without that tight, dry feeling.

Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

This isn’t a sponsored post or an ad or anything but seriously…go buy this little baby right now.

I am obsessed with this lip oil and it’s not just me either, a few of my fellow bloggers have raved about it! I wear a lot of lipsticks, most of which are drying and matte, and wearing this overnight keeps them from getting chapped. You can wear it in the day too, which of course I do, and the non-sticky formula and light scent is perfect.

I have the raspberry one, but it comes in three tints total! I can’t speak highly enough of this product and will 100% be repurchasing when I run out because, as you can tell, I’ve used  lot already and can’t get enough.

There we go, my first Five Favourites!

Clarins products can be bought on their website, The Bay, Sephora and some Shoppers Drug Mart locations.

Ideally I would do this weekly but life gets busy so be patient with me! If you have any products you’d like me to a round up of let me know, this will be a fun way to cover a lot and quickly, and I love being able to recommend products.

So if you have something you’d like to know my faves of, let me know in the comments!

Oh I have to try the lip oil!! I love Clairns SPF. I wear it as base for my makeup on sunny days and it isn’t greasy, nor does it make my face shiny! Love your idea for the Five Favourites! Great post!
