My night out with the The Drake Hotel was a special one, for all the cheesiest reasons.
Sure it was a great night out & it was fun to check out The Drake Hotel but it was also my last night out with my soul mate/other half/cousin Hillary. She’s leaving me, ahem, moving out to Vancouver and it’ll be a fair bit before we take on blog events together again.
I attended the Drake Catering launch with her as well, and both events were delicious and so fun!
This was a very casual, short and sweet event to check out just to see what the space has to offer for a wedding or other special event.
You can do a lot in this space: they have The Underground, the Sky Yard and The Lounge – so many options for you to customize the look your going for for your wedding.
When it comes to planning weddings, there’s nothing I love more than seeing couples really stick to who they are, instead of going with what’s trending on Pinterest. Having a venue with different spaces allows you to make the choices to suit your dream, which I think is how a wedding day should be.
Up in The Sky Yard we enjoyed the sun, a yummy gin cocktail and Hillary snacked on the food they offered – shrimp on a stick (so good) and duck tacos (I declined this one, but it did smell good).
We were then whisked downstairs for some yummy bites to eat, more drinks & to see what they had displayed to show off their wedding options – a set up that was every bit as beautiful as it was unique (check the masks, love it).
We sipped on wine, enjoyed way too much sushi and the DJ was badass (and also real cute but hey). I also had the chance to catch up with a friend from back home who I invited to the event!
They even have a Pinterest board dedicated to the beautiful weddings they’ve had there, which are great to look at for inspo!
