If you know me, you know I like cider. Wine, sure. Beer, if I have to. But cider? My favourite.
So it’s no surprise that the Toronto Cider Festival is my fave festival to roll into the city each summer. I’ve been every year, and I cannot wait to go a fourth time.
I’ve gone with friends, for a date and as media (last year for From Beer to Here!) and it’s always a good time. Delish new ciders to try, a DJ, being outside, yummy food..honestly, it’s my ideal night out!
Which is why I think heading to the Cider Fest with your girls (or with the boys!) is such a perfect Bachelorette Party!
What to Expect This Year:
Happening again at Sherbourne Common, down by the water, this year they’re rolling out a Western theme. We’re talking a mechanical bull to ride all weekend (a Bach Party MUST), outfit showdown contests, and line dancing. Plus having the festival for three different sessions. Still 100s of ciders to try, but now you have a bit more flexibility to attend.
Friday evening’s session will have a live country band to kick your heels up to and then Saturday’s day drinking will have a DJ followed by a proper Saturday night party.
It’s seriously not just drinking, although that is the best part I’ll admit. The Flair Cider Cocktail Bartending Competition, the Art Showdown, the Photo Booth, and the interactive Gaming Zone will also be making a comeback with a Wild Western spin. And you and your girls will have the chance to win amazing prizes from a variety of contests — even a couple of getaway contests to win trips across Canada!
What Does Admission Get You?
This is the technical stuff you know I can’t mess up so straight from the Press Release we go:
Admission tickets to all 3 sessions include 4 sample tokens and a commemorative sampling mug to kick off the cider experience. In addition, cider enthusiasts can take advantage of the of the VIP Experience on Saturday Night, which includes everything at the Saturday Night Party, along with 6 additional tokens, access to an exclusive VIP hour featuring a Food & Cider pairing session, exclusive VIP entertainment, and Bonus VIP giveaways.
My Tips & Tricks for Making the Most of Your Bachelorette Cider Fest:
- Every session is a fun session, but if you’re all about the photos keep that in mind and head to an earlier session — plus then you can go out with the gang after!
- Don’t ignore the food stations, they’re yummy AND you don’t want to get too messy
- Matching is always a must for a Bachelorette weekend, but it’s also a great way to keep track of each other in the crowds
- Try new kinds! I found new faves last year after I decided to try some I had never heard of
- Check the weather…I know, I sound like your mom but it IS an outdoor festival
If you’re looking to get into the spirit of the drink, Florals & Teacups (aka Vicki’s older blog) has a delish cider cocktail you and the girls can drink while getting ready!
