Beauty Must-Have: Glossier Cloud Paints

I can’t remember what the beauty world was like before Glossier. They appeared seemingly overnight with their effortless cool campaigns and pink pouches, and I was sold.

While I am a fan of everything I try from Glossier, there’s only one type of product that I have never seen anything similar and I highly recommend to anyone looking to test out the brand — The Cloud Paints.

What Are They?

Little tubes of magic. And I’m only slightly exaggerating. These little tubes contain a super light cream that blends so easily that anyone, no matter the level of makeup experience, can use them. Glossier says that if you can finger paint, you can Cloud Paint and they’re not wrong.

It’s seamless, sheer, buildable and works with any skin type. Plus with six different shades, all giving serious sunset vibes, there’s bound to be one to suit your skin tone.

How Do You Use Them?

Cloud Paints are a cream blush essentially and a little goes a long way. All you need is a little dot on your fingertip for your cheeks! They also blend together well if you like to be your own artist and experiment with new combos.

The formula works best with your finger tips — I have yet to find a brush that works despite them being paints. A damp beauty blender works too, but the fingers do give more control especially since you’re using such little product.

Now even though they are a blush, you can use them other ways as well. Seeing as the price point is a little steep ($22 CAD each) I think it’s helpful that they’re multiuse.

A dab on the eyelids, using the same colour as your cheeks, gives you a monochrome look, and the formula is long lasting and doesn’t crease. You can also pat on the lips for a sheer lip stain that looks amazing topped with a balm or gloss.

The Shade Range:

The original four shades are what caught the attention of Glossier fans:

Puff – a light cool pink, gives your cheeks just a touch of colour like a chilly day

Dusk – a brownish nude, perfect as a bronzer for those with pale skin (my go-to for cheeks & eyes!)

Beam – a soft peach, has a very beachy day vibe to it and looks great mixed with Dusk

Haze – a deep berry, gives a natural flush and the perfect lip stain

And now they’ve added two new shades that my makeup bags are desperately missing:

Storm – a warm rose that is basically a neutral must-have

Dawn –  a sunny coral that looks stunning on deeper skin tones

Besides giving you that ‘glow from within’ effortless look that is huge right now, the Paints also contain collagen which helps moisturize and plump your skin.

Since Glossier is all about skin first and makeup second so it’s no surprise even this cult fave is basically skincare but pretty.
