MyChelle Dermaceuticals – Review

Haven’t heard of MyChelle? Totally acceptable this time. Why? Because they’re just now making their way on up into Canada and I was lucky enough to try some of their products.

Ready for something quite impressive these days? All MyChelle  products are vegetarian, cruelty-free, and free of Phthalates, parabens, sulfates (!!! I have an allergy so this is great), ureas, artificial fragrances and colours, petroleum, GMOs, and gluten. So yes, they’re good for you and our furry friends.

You also need to check out this page of theirs- Beauty Regimens. It breaks down what you should be looking for depending on your skin type/needs. Super helpful for a first time shopper!

Okay so here we go: my thoughts on four of MyChelle’s products including the Refining Sugar Cleanser, the Supreme Polypeptide Cream, the Remarkable Retinal Serum and the Perfect C Serum.

The refining sugar cleanser is hands down my favourite product of the four – I’ve already started recommending it to people and I can’t get enough of it.

It’s a cleanser that hydrates, improves skin’s texture and exfoliates. You can change up how exfoliating it is, because once you add more water it softens down. It still lathers nicely too. It’s gentle enough for daily use which is great because, well, I can’t stop using it. I sound like an ad but seriously I love this stuff.

The fact that it’s sugar gives it an ever so slight sweet smell, like vanilla. But it does have three key active ingredients too! They’re all very science-y and have to do with anti-aging, by helping with collagen and elastin. The cleanser also has green tea, honeysuckle and witch hazel (which helps with skin imperfections).

So yes, I can’t speak on the anti-aging benefits but this cleanser has kept my skin clear since I started using it daily and doesn’t dry me out at all. I like to remove my makeup before and then use the sugar cleanser, and I leave it on for a couple of minutes as a hydrating treatment.

This cream packs a lot of (moisturizing) punch and a little goes along way.

This is meant to be anti-aging as well, but what I do know is that it keeps my skin 100% hydrated all day and makes me look a little more awake – but that could be the serums too! It is meant to firm, nourish and smooth.  It’s also supposed to help with tone too!

It’s a very rich cream, I use it in the morning and night but remember a little goes a long way! I’ve noticed it’s helped with my makeup application because it makes my skin so smooth.

See, I love serums. No idea why, but I think it’s because they seem a little more intense than a cream and concentrated serums and oils have to be better than general creams…right?

The Remarkable Retinal Serum is, once again, anti-aging.  It has the ingredients especially for that – the most potent form of Vitamin A, Ceramide 3 and Orange Plant Stem Cells and these promote healthy skin renewal, help diminish skin discolouration (dark spots and blemishes WHICH I have noticed!) and minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

I do prefer the Perfect C serum over this one! Nonetheless, I’ve tried it out. My advice is to certainly follow with a moisturizer after a half hour and less is more. The smell is a little strange, but doesn’t deter me.

Perfect C Serum

Yes, of the two serums I like this one the best.

The Perfect C is meant to brighten, strengthen and perfect. I’m not totally sure about the strengthen bit, but I really think it does help with perfecting and brightening. Perfecting in a sense that it helps with dark spots and skin imperfections like scarring, something I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with.

This one too I would recommend the less is more and to follow with a moisturizer. Also, careful when following an exfoliating treatment because I found it stung a little in places. Not too fond on the scent of this little guy either, but again it’s not enough to make me want to stop using it.

Overall, I was impressed with MyChelle and I’m excited for them to be here in Canada!

I think going forward I’ll be using the sugar cleanser, supreme polypeptide (what a mouthful) cream and the perfect c cleanser. And, assuming she’ll be reading this, I think my mom would be happy to have the remarkable retinal serum! At 25, of course I’m thinking about how my skin is going to age but she’s a little father down the road (hehe) and she might like the product more.

If you’ve ever tried a serum I would love to hear about it! Creams and cleansers I’m no stranger to, but this serum business is a whole new world to me. Let me know!
