Organizing a wedding is an exciting experience, but it can also be a little stressful. There are so many things to arrange, and everything has to be prepared so many months (or years) in advance. If you’re desperate for a summer wedding then you’ll probably want it to be a bold and vibrant affair, whether you have traditional or not-so-traditional ideas in mind. Here’s some advice on creating an utterly unique summer wedding.
The venue needs to come first.
The first step to planning a wedding at any time of year is choosing the venue. Given the popularity of summer weddings, however, you should definitely aim to do this sooner rather than later so that you’re not waiting too many years for the perfect venue to become available. Plus, everything else can fall into place once you’ve chosen the venue. You’ll have a chosen date for your wedding, and that means you can send out invites. You’ll also have an idea of the theme of your wedding. Perhaps you’ll choose an outdoor venue because you want to embrace the sunshine and heat of summer, or perhaps you’ll choose a historic building because you have a traditional theme in mind. We’ll discuss that more in the next point.
The theme is integral to the overall vibe.
If you want your summer wedding to be utterly unique then you need to focus on the theme. Think about the colours you want to use and the overall style that you have in mind. Obviously, the wedding will be taking place in summer, but that doesn’t mean you have to go down the stereotypical route when planning this event. You could opt for bright colours if you’re having an outdoor wedding and want to make the most of the sunshine and the pretty colours found in nature. But you might have a different colour theme in mind. Maybe you don’t want any floral arrangements, or maybe you want to use decorations of unusual colours.
The point is that you need to create a theme that feels personal to the tastes of you and your soon-to-be spouse. Take a unique route if that’s what you have in mind, or take the route of the stereotypical summer wedding if that suits your preferences. It’s all up to you. As long as you’re happy, you’ll have achieved the perfect summer vibe. Of course, you could seek help from wedding planning specialists if you’re really struggling. Sometimes, it can help to get some ideas for event design from professionals who’ve been in the planning business for years. Just make sure that your ideas become a reality when designing the theme for your summer wedding.
The attire is important too.
Everything comes back to the overall theme and aesthetic of your wedding, whether it’s an extravagant affair or a small gathering. Either way, you want your big day to look just right when you’re looking back at pictures of it. That’s why you need to make sure that the attire is perfect. Obviously, you’ll put a lot of time into picking out the perfect wedding dress, but it’s crucial that everybody looks good on this big day. Make the theme of the wedding clear in the invites you send to guests; encourage people to wear clothing of certain colours or styles that suit the vibe of the venue. You want to ensure that everybody looks good on this special occasion. You don’t want people to outshine the bride on her wedding day, of course, but you should still encourage guests to make an impression.
(Psssst, this is a collab post but I’m still keeping it real!)
