The Relaunch of Sincerely, Bri

Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I feel like I’ve been planning this for weeks and the time has finally arrived: the relaunch of my beloved blog! I think I’ve change my blog twice since launching it just over two years ago but third time’s the charm.

If you’ve been keeping up with me on social media, you know 2017 was a busy (and big!) year and even though it’s just under two months into 2018 it’s winding up to be the same.

I am, as always, excited to see what the year brings in terms of blogging but I know I need to start being more careful about what I take on. I can’t be the only blogger who gets FOMO and tries to squeeze in every single event and product, right?

It’ll be a learning curve and I’ll certainly be writing more about how I figure it out.

Okay but back to what we’re all here for: the relaunch. As I write this, excitement and nerves are totally taking over. And I’ve been looking at this new site so often I wonder now if anyone will notice it looks different, isn’t that strange?

But change is good.

Plus the amount of support I’ve been receiving leading up to this reveal from fellow bloggers is nothing short of amazing. I am always in awe to be a part of such a loving community.

Now, let’s break it down.

What inspired the relaunch?

I fell out of love with my blog.

Sounds so dramatic, but it’s true. I couldn’t relate to the content anymore. It was too pink and girly, which I am very much not in real life (despite what Instagram leads you to believe) and it didn’t feel personal anymore.

I always want my blog to be something I am proud of. Proud to the point I want to show every stranger I can and be confident that they’ll love it. Kidding – but I’ll always show it off.

The whole point of Sincerely, Bri was to have it be like a letter to all of you, even if all of you is sometimes just my mother.

I got overwhelmed by all the PR opportunities that it became heavy with reviews and while I love beauty and I’m beyond grateful, I felt like it wasn’t as authentic to me as it could be. And should be.

So, I designed a new logo and started to plan for some changes.

What’s changed?

I hope you’ve noticed at least a few things!

The layout. The logo, which I designed myself and I’m all too fond of.

I did switch from Squarespace to WordPress and I’ve very excited about this from a technical point of view. I’ve used both before, but it’s been a minute since I’ve played around with WP.

Content wise, I will still be writing about weddings and beauty and lifestyle. But I want to write more me things, which means book reviews and prose and essays and ramblings. They might not be trendy, but fictional writing is my first love and I’m ready to combine the two and start writing them on here instead of on another (slightly secret) blog.

The change I’m most excited about though? A new series!

What’s The Letter Series?

I have been hinting, probably a little too much, about a new series on my blog.

Well, it’s The Letter Series. I go into full detail here but it’s really a chance for anyone to write and submit their own words. It’s not your typical submission, and it’s not your typical reading, but I’m very excited to bring it back and help whoever wants to send a letter into the world.

As always, I love saying thank you to my readers. That sounds so pretentious, I guess I mean my friends?

Anyway! I want to mail two people a little package to say thank you. And because I never give the gents of the world a reason to enter, I’ll be giving away both a Coach perfume and a Coach cologne, as well as a fancy notebook & pen. I know writing might not be your passion, but I wanted a chance to share mine and who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired to write something.

This giveaway is open internationally, and there will be two winners. No giveaway accounts will even be considered or looked at, except for me to roll me eyes at. The giveaway runs from February 14 until February 28, with the winner being contacted on March 1.

HAHAHA Didn’t say my passion. I think my passion right now is exploring the arts more. I want to write more reviews and features about all the concerts and performances I attend. It’s such a big part of my life and isn’t reflected at all in my writing any more.

  2. February 14, 2018 / 10:37 am

Yay Bri! I’m so excited for this new journey of yours, and I can’t wait to follow along with your content!

I’m passionate about all things colour, and helping others to embrace colour into their lives as well! That’s the biggest reason why I started my blog!

What a sweet giveaway <3 my passion revolves around people. I love bringing sparkle into people's lives, whether that's through sharing beauty and lifestyle tips, making handmade jewellery, or spending quality time with those I love. I'm all about those small joys in life and it's fun to share face-to-face time with people in this digital age. Great work on the re-launch! xoxox

I don’t know if I have ever really had a passion, sadly. I love food, and books, and skincare, and watch entirely too much tv. I adore spending time on social media, and love dogs. But I don’t really have a ‘thing’. I wish I did! I am looking forward to following along on your new blog! Is there a way to get email notifications when you have a new post? I am always afraid I am missing out!
