Life isn’t supposed to be lived in boring old grey; it’s supposed to be full of colour, brightness, vibrancy, and well, life! And this is especially relevant when it comes to your wedding day. This is one of the most important days of your life; if it’s devoid of colour, then what’s that going to say about your love? Fortunately, it’s easy to add zest to your special day. We take a look at a few ways to brighten up proceedings below.
Accessorise the Clothing
You have some creative license when it comes to the bulk of your wedding day outfit, but, admittedly, this isn’t too much. If you’re female, then you’re going to be wearing a white dress. If you’re a man, then you’ll be wearing a suit, usually one with dark tones. But does that mean that you can’t have any colour on you? No way! You have to bring the colour in more subtle ways. If you’re female, look at adding colourful earrings and nail varnish. If you’re male, then you can get funky with your socks. All of these will add a subtle, but noteworthy addition to your outfit.
The decor is where you can really show off your colourful, vibrant credentials. There’s going to be plenty of scope to decorate your reception however you see fit (you’ll be more limited with your ceremony unless you’re hosting it yourself). Begin by working with a local florist to ensure you have plenty of beautiful flowers brightening up the space. From there, it’s adding about small touches of colour wherever possible. Even little things, such as your napkins and chairs, are an opportunity to add a bit of life to the event, though make sure that you’re choosing classy colours.
Get Creative With Drinks
No-oe’s going to complain if you’re serving beer and wine at your wedding, but if you do this, then you’ll be missing an opportunity to bring crazy amounts of bright blues, reds, and greens to your wedding, and in a delicious way, too. After you’ve finished your meal, look at setting up a cocktail bar. This won’t have to run all night; an hour or two should be enough for everyone to get their fill and ready to party. Your wedding photographs will look extra fun if everyone has a colourful drink – with curly straw included – in their hand.
Go Big With Balloons
You might want your reception to positively sparkle, and for people to be impressed when they see it for the first time. The best – not to mention easiest – way to do this is to add plenty of balloons and ribbons do your decor. These can be all the colours of the rainbow, so go crazy!
And finally, think about how you’ll be getting to and from the wedding. This is a chance to drive away in something that really catches the eye. There are few better ways to begin married life than by rolling away in a pink Cadillac!
