to you, as you grow up

dear you;

things have changed, haven’t they? your hardest decision is no longer about what crayon you’ll use, or where to run for hide & seek. about whether to have one cookie or two, or who to hang with at recess. no, it’s different now.

you don’t go to bed when your parents tell you to, and they aren’t there to get you out of bed. in fact, you don’t even talk to them daily, do you? they aren’t there to get you out of tough situations, but you don’t want that anyway, right? you’re past that. past needing them for everything.

you know what happened? you grew up.

it’s not easy, but no one ever said it was. and right now, you’re a bit lost, but that’s okay. why? because you’ll get through it, you always do. here’s your problem; you overthink, everything. this has to stop! you have to think less and live more. because you can’t always control what happens, but you can control what you think of it, always remember that.

so maybe you don’t know what to do right now, that’s normal. if you always knew what to do, you’d be so boring. take a risk, or don’t take it, either way it’ll work out, for the better or worse. that sucks, i know, but you won’t know until it happens; that’s life. so stop trying to get your head & your heart on the same page, it won’t happen.

just live.
